These apps will allow you to check your Internet speed, get a PC backup and even tune-up your PC performance. I was hoping I wasn't the only one out there still using this chipset. The Vortex 2 chipset won numerous industry awards, and was used among other places in the Diamond Monster Sound MX, which achieved near-cult status with audiophiles and gamers for the high quality of its vistq audio.
Edited at fista What I did for this new package was update all of the files with the XP and, where possible, Windows 7 versions.

Drivers for AUREAL AU Sound for Windows Vista
The only way for me to add au88830 support would be if I had the source code to these drivers and could re-compile them for bit addressing. That old home theater PC looked and sounded great. Anyone know what my problem is? I have found your post when tried hard to make my aureal vortex 2 working under windows 7. Sadly, Aureal went bankrupt in and was later bought by Creative, so Aureal chipsets have had pretty poor support since XP -- the stock Vortex2 driver included in Windows XP was a bare bones implementation at best.

Then i tried onboard sound card and problem was there also. I've experienced uncontrolled volume fluctuations problem on Windows 7 with my MX card.

These drivers still do not have A3D enabled. They should work in Windows Vista bit as well.
After Aureal's release of A3D 2. Easy Driver Pro does not sell or charge for drivers. How exactly were you able to make all this work? I had my aureal vortex in my old vistta, and decided to use it instead of bying an X-fi or whatever.
It's really cool to be able to use the card again. These drivers are ay8830 only! This is pretty old, and link is dead, but The first member of the line, the Vortex AU, was announced on July 14, [1]and was used in by a number of sound card manufacturers, like Yamaha and Turtle Beach.

You now have basic sound support in bit Vista. After I installed the drivers, I restarted my computer, but alas, still no sound.
